What is the difference between a festival and a competition?

Please remember that competitions differ from festivals. Everyone receives a medal at a festival, whereas competitions usually only place 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. At Dance Moves II & III, we generally attend “competition style festivals,” which are a blend of the two styles.

Please remind your dancer that the color of their medal does not matter. It’s the growth and the experience that matters the most. It’s someone’s opinion of how they did on that particular day and it is important to maintain a perspective if the outcome isn’t what was expected.
